Below is a Question and Answer session that we did with Chloe to reflect on her achievements and career progression with JLR Retail.
Why did you apply for your JLR Retail Apprenticeship?
I never wanted an office job. I like to be moving so University was never a choice. I have always liked cars, so I followed something I enjoyed.
How did you apply for your apprenticeship and what did the process involve?
I sent my CV online then had assessments to complete before being selected for an interview at the retailer.
What’s the best thing about being an apprentice with JLR?
The people I have met on my apprenticeship journey. Everyone has helped me grow. I started in Stratford Upon Avon where I met the best people. Then I met even more in Wakefield.
Would you encourage someone else to pursue an apprenticeship with JLR. If yes, why?
Yes, I think an apprenticeship is much better than college as you get real world experience. And JLR is a good brand to choose to do that.
What is your biggest achievement so far in your apprenticeship?
Completing the apprenticeship and moving forward alone. I feel as though I have done so much and progressed so well since I finished.
How has the apprentice programme helped you develop in your chosen field and personally?
I am more confident and more active. I don’t sit still for long, and it keeps me going. I think being in such a male environment has made a big difference with confidence.
How have you progressed since completing your apprenticeship?
I moved onto my Level 3, got my MOT licence and became Electric Vehicle (EV) qualified. I have recently achieved my level 4 Assessment with 100% achievement on all 5 tasks, and I am proud of these achievements.
What would you advise someone considering an apprenticeship with JLR Retail?
Be prepared for lots of challenges and frustrating days, but it all helps you to grow and will build you as a person. Go for it, don’t wait.
